A Star Wars Bar — Avian Style

Biscayne National Park, Miami-Dade County

birds
Walk to the end of the jetty trail and this is what you will see, dozens of sea-going birds gathered on rocks and large slabs of concrete. Not only dozens of birds, perhaps a dozen or more species of bird, some common, like the brown pelicans and the ruddy turnstones but some unusual as well, like the Caspian terns and Forester's terns, all of which are seen in the gallery at the bottom of the main page. There was a black skimmer resting its hefty bill on the concrete. It reminds us of a bar scene in a Star Wars movie with its multitude of aliens, except that these are all residents of our beautiful planet earth.
