Key West Tropical Forest and Botanical Gardens — Lush Gardens, Rare Plants
Much of Key West Tropical Forest and Botanical Gardens is well-manicured paths through lush plantings of Florida natives and others found in the Caribbean. Some speciments are extremely rare, such as the semaphore pricklypear, Consolea corallicola, which only grows in the Florida Keys and is considered by some to be the rarest plant on the planet and listed as critically endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources.
