The designers of Plantation Preserve not only wanted to create green space that city residents could enjoy, they wanted to recall the land's past as part of the Everglades. They did so by creating various habitats like this cypress dome swamp. The dome sits on the east side of the linear trail and provides living space for some of the wild things that once lived here. The golf is behind the cypress and to the right. Farther right is a residential neighborhood that borders preserve. NEXT PHOTO.
