Solid Waste Authority Greenway Trails — Lake Altman and the Everglades Trail

A glimpse of Lake Altman from the western shore and the Everglades Trail. If you begin the hike near the designated parking spaces, you'll first encounter the Butterfly Loop Trail, which takes you past Lake Altman, perhaps the most prominent geographic feature of the Greenway Trail System, and meets up with the Everglades Trail. You can continue along the Butterfly Loop, which will take you back to the parking lot, or hike down the Everglades to the rest of the trail system and a snail kite nesting area, or rookery.
