This photograph looks about as uninteresting as it gets until you stop and think about it for a second. This land has been plowed up by hungry feral hogs looking for food. We have no idea of the number of feral hogs within Dupuis Wildlife and Environmental Area, but there is no shortage of them. You might think of them as harmless, but multiply this scene by hundreds, perhaps by thousands throughout Dupuis and other parks and preserves throughout Florida, and consider the habitat damage, the rare plants and animals lost or threatened because of their indiscriminant rooting. We are not hunters but these animals really don't belong. Something to think about
